Help support local performing arts organizations
The Performing Arts Equitable Payroll Fund (PAEPF) is the piece of California legislation that Ophelia’s Jump Productions Beatrice Casagran participated with other members of the theatre community in a grass roots coalition to improve funding for the nonprofit performing arts companies in California that employ thousands of artists and arts workers throughout the state.
Actor’s Equity has created a one-click letter to ask your legislators to support a $40 million budget ask for the PAEPF. Numbers matter here! Make sure to sign your support and share this with your networks and lawmakers. Currently 544 letters have been submitted. By the end of the week, the goal is to increase that number to 1500!
We are into the heart of the California State budget season and your advocacy is more important than ever. It’s a strategic time to make your voices heard and get involved. Legislators Sen. Rubio and Assm. Haney have made the budget proposal to add $40 million to the state budget for an additional round of PAEPF funding and four other senators and seven assembly members signed on in support. This letter helps make sure this fund request is included in the 2026 budget proposal to the Governor.
Supporting this fund builds awareness to keep community based regional theaters like Ophelia’s Jump open.
