Fog slowly rolls into Claremont: Foggy mornings are in the forecast as the inversion layer from the west drifts far inland to the Claremont area at the Base Line Road exit at the 210 freeway. But high temperatures will still warm up to the 70s by the afternoon. There is also a warm-up in the forecast with temperatures in the mid-80s by week’s end. City Manager Adam Pirrie announced on Monday that longtime Claremont Police Department employee Captain Aaron Fate will be the next police chief. Captain Fate will take over the top spot on the police force on November 11 following the retirement of Police Chief Shelly Vander Veen. There will be a public badging ceremony for Captain Fate at the DoubleTree hotel on Monday November 15 at 5:00 p.m.
