The Service Center for Independent Life and AgingNext — two long-time Claremont nonprofits known for helping people live better independently — recently purchased the 1.93-acre Spring Street Center at 109 Spring St. from Claremont Spring Street LLC for $5.3 million. Construction on Claremont McKenna College’s Robert Day Sciences Center is nearly complete, with the building now entering its mobilization phase. Passenger service for the recently completed A Line light rail extension project connecting the existing A Line Azusa station to the cities of Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne and Pomona is set to open September 19.
