Chorale joins ‘Sing Democracy 250’ June 6

Claremont Chorale will join more than 100 choirs from across the U.S. for “Sing Democracy 250,” commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 6 at Claremont Presbyterian Church, 1111 N. Mountain Ave. Tickets are $15-$25 at claremontchorale.org/concerts or at the door. Children 5 and under are free.

The concert will feature “Redeem the Dream” by Brandon A. Boyd, “US” by Michael Bussewitz-Quarm, “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

“This is not just a concert, it’s a communal experience,” wrote Claremont Chorale Artistic Director Alan Wellman in a statement. “We are inviting people to listen deeply, to reflect honestly, and to reconnect with the idea that democracy is not something we inherit passively — it’s something we actively participate in, together.”
