Courier wins 25 CNPA awards, most in its history

List of Courier awards from the CNPA for 2025
The Claremont Courier has won 25 California Journalism Awards, the most in its history.
The annual competition by the California News Publishers Association included thousands of entries from hundreds of newspapers throughout the state. Winners were announced last week.
Courier Publisher Peter Weinberger won two first place awards, for artistic photo, “Hazy day between the San Gabriel Mountains,” and feature photo, “Love in the air as Pope speaks.”
Editor Mick Rhodes was awarded a first place prize in the writing category for his columns “Grateful for it all,” “Searching for home in Tehachapi,” and “News flash: men do dumb stuff.”
Editorial designer Skylar Anderson won first place for inside page layout and design for her work on the Courier’s “Claremont Living” special edition.
Rhodes, Anderson, and reporter Andrew Alonzo came in first in the special section category for their combined effort in writing, editing, and designing the Courier’s 2025 Almanac.
And Ben Tripp won first prize for his editorial cartoon, “Purity of Essence.”
