Seeing double: Claremont and Upland light up the night

Upland is known for their big firework displays, but Claremont's finale was long and spectacular.

Yes, it’s possible. Both Claremont and Upland launched their 2026 annual fireworks displays at 9 p.m on July Fourth, just four minutes apart.

In the past, I’ve always had to choose between them. But this year, with a little planning and luck, the Courier captured both shows from the air using one camera and a drone.

Upland is known for larger displays, thanks to the open space near the rock quarry at Monte Vista Avenue and Baseline Road. Claremont’s venue is much tighter, but also more personal, as hundreds gathered to watch a show with a fantastic finish.

Either way, we are lucky to have two fireworks shows only about a mile apart.

Happy holiday from the Courier! —PW
