Friday, April 10
Claremont Police Department officers conducted a 2:03 a.m. records check of a 43-year-old Pasadena man they were questioning near First Street and Harvard Avenue which returned a misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Claremont jail, where police allegedly found him to be in possession of methamphetamine, adding felony bringing a controlled substance into a jail and possession of a controlled substance with priors to his charge list. He was booked and later transported to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles to be held for court.
Saturday, April 11
Police received a 7:49 a.m. report of a person brandishing a firearm from inside their car near Arrow Highway and Green Street, but were unable to locate the suspect. An investigation is ongoing.
Sunday, April 12
Officers stopped a driver for equipment violations near Foothill Boulevard and Towne Avenue at 9:15 p.m. A records check of the 37-year-old Pomona man showed a felony LAPD warrant and that he was driving on a suspended license, a misdemeanor, leading to his arrest. His passenger, a 38-year-old Ontario man, claimed ownership of a large bag of marijuana allegedly found in the car and was arrested for misdemeanor possession of more than 28.5 grams of cannabis. Both were transported to CPD and booked. The Pomonan was later transported to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles to be held for court. The Ontario man was released with a citation.
Thursday, April 16
Police attempted to pull over a driver at Towne Avenue and Briarcroft Road at 1:30 p.m. but were instead led on a low speed pursuit that lasted about two minutes, ending about a mile away near the Base Line Road and 210 Freeway onramp. The driver, a 21-year-old Pomona man, was arrested for misdemeanor evading police, transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Friday, April 17
Officers stopped a cyclist for equipment violations near Arrow Highway and Towne Avenue at 9 p.m. The 34-year-old man from Los Angeles then allegedly attempted to flee, leading to his arrest for misdemeanor resisting arrest. He was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and released with a citation.
Saturday, April 18
A woman called CPD at 12:18 a.m. from the 1400 block of N. Claremont Boulevard to report someone had smashed her car window and stolen her purse. Police continue to investigate.
Police stopped a driver for equipment violations at 11 a.m. near Indian Hill Boulevard and the 10 Freeway. A records check of the 36-year-old Pomona man showed he was on probation and his license was suspended. During a search of the car police allegedly recovered stolen checks and an imitation firearm that had been altered to appear real. He was arrested for felony receiving stolen property and misdemeanors altering an imitation firearm and driving on a suspended license, transported to CPD, booked, and held for court.
Sunday, April 19
An employee at Denny’s, 820 S. Indian Hill Blvd., called police at 8:29 a.m. to report that a man and a woman had left without paying their bill. Police searched the area but could not find the suspects. An investigation is ongoing.
