Friday, May 22
Claremont Police Department officers responded to Motel 6, 840 S. Indian Hill Blvd., at 3:45 a.m. on reports of a person breaking a window. Arriving officers arrested a 34-year-old La Verne woman for felony vandalism. She was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Sunday, May 24
Police responded to reports of a couple fighting at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 555 W. Foothill Blvd., at 12:30 a.m. Officers determined a domestic violence incident had occurred in the presence of a child, and arrested a 39-year-old Long Beach man for felony domestic violence and misdemeanor child endangerment. He was transported to CPD, booked, and later released on bond.
Tuesday, May 26
Officers responded to a 4:50 p.m. call about a couple fighting at Armstrong Garden Centers, 735 E. Foothill Blvd., and arrested a 51-year-old Lake Forest woman on a felony domestic violence charge. She was booked at CPD then later transported to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood to be held ahead of her May 28 Pomona Superior Court appearance.
Wednesday, May 27
CPD received a 9 a.m. call about a couple arguing at the Claremont Palms Apartments, 750 W. San Jose Ave. Arriving officers determined an altercation had taken place in the presence of a child, and arrested a 28-year-old Claremont man for misdemeanor domestic violence and child endangerment. He was transported to the police station, booked, and later released on bond.
Police responded to a 10:30 p.m. report of domestic violence at a residence in the 100 block of Alfred Drive. Arriving officers arrested a 60-year-old Claremont man for misdemeanor domestic violence. He was transported to CPD, booked, and held for court.
Thursday, May 28
Staff at Pomona College contacted CPD to report a refrigerator cart worth more than $8,000 had been stolen at 2:11 p.m. May 24. Claremont police received a call from Claremont Colleges Campus Safety at 10:11 a.m. May 28 about a person loitering near some bicycles. Arriving officers questioned a 31-year-old Pomona man near College Avenue and E. Oak Park Drive and determined he was a suspect in the refrigerator cart theft. He was subsequently arrested for felony grand theft and petty theft with priors. After a records check he was also charged with a felony post-release community supervision violation and for a misdemeanor San Bernardino County warrant. He was booked at CPD and later transported to West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga to be held for court.
Friday, May 29
Police stopped a driver for equipment violations at 1:30 a.m. near Indian Hill Boulevard and Cobblestone Lane in Pomona. Officers said the 33-year-old Los Angeles man refused repeated requests to exit his vehicle, but eventually complied and after field sobriety tests was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and resisting arrest. At CPD he allegedly refused to provide a chemical sample, prompting police to obtain a court order, after which he still refused, adding misdemeanor violation of a court order to his charge list. He was booked and held for court.
A resident reported items were stolen from their garage in the 300 block of Springfield Street sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:36 p.m. An investigation is ongoing.
Saturday, May 30
Police received an 11:59 a.m. call about a car burglary in the 1400 block of Morton Circle. An investigation is ongoing.
A resident called police at 12:47 p.m. to report two briefcases containing a laptop and other valuables were stolen from the driveway of their home in the 100 block of E. Fairfield Drive. An investigation is ongoing.
Sunday, May 31
Police received reports of a man and woman fighting in the presence of a child at 7 p.m. at Chevron/McDonald’s, 860 S. Indian Hill Blvd. Arriving officers arrested a 40-year-old Perris woman for felony domestic violence and misdemeanor child endangerment. A records check of the 32-year-old Perris man revealed a misdemeanor warrant from Covina PD, and he was also arrested. Both were booked at CPD. The woman was held for court. The man was picked up by Covina PD.
Wednesday, June 3
Police responded to the 300 block of West 10th Street at 7:41 a.m. following reports that a young girl had been hit by a car while bicycling to school. Arriving officers questioned the driver, the cyclist and her parents, and said the girl’s injuries included minor abrasions. The youngster was taken to a nearby hospital by her parents. No arrests were made. An investigation is ongoing.
