Thursday, June 11
Claremont Police Department officers responded at 10:13 a.m. to a report of a burglary at Extra Space Storage, 525 W. Arrow Hwy. An investigation is ongoing.
Friday, June 12
A woman called police at 9:11 a.m. to report an email threat. An investigation is ongoing.
Sunday, June 14
CPD responded to Blaisdell Park, 440 S. College Ave., at 6:30 p.m. on reports of people smoking marijuana. Arriving officers questioned a 29-year-old Compton man and a records check showed he was on parole. A search of his car allegedly turned up a handgun reported stolen from a 2024 burglary in Long Beach. He was arrested for a felony parole violation and being a felon in possession of a firearm, and misdemeanor possession of loaded firearm in public. He was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and held for court.
Tuesday, June 16
A man called police at 10:01 a.m. to report he had been sexually assaulted by a resident at a convalescent home in the 500 block of S. College Avenue. An investigation is ongoing.
Thursday, June 18
Police stopped a 48-year-old Pomona man riding a bicycle near Indian Hill Boulevard and Cobblestone Lane in Pomona for equipment violations at 12:55 a.m. A records check returned misdemeanor warrants and he was arrested and transported to the Claremont jail, where a search allegedly found methamphetamine, adding felony bringing drugs into a jail and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance to his charge list. He was booked and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
CPD officers stopped a 41-year-old Rialto man for moving and equipment violations at 1 a.m. at Indian Hill Boulevard and the 10 Freeway. A search of his car allegedly yielded fentanyl and he was arrested for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. A search of a 39-year-old female passenger from Ontario with a misdemeanor allegedly yielded fentanyl and methamphetamine, and she was arrested on two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and the warrant. A search of another passenger, a 34-year-old Ontario man, allegedly turned up identification cards that were not his, and he was arrested for misdemeanor misappropriation of lost property. All were transported to CPD, booked, and released with citations.
A victim called police at 7:12 p.m. to report their wallet and other items had been stolen from their car between 6 and 7 p.m. at the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park parking lot in the 4000 block of N. Mills Avenue. Arriving officers reported two additional cars in the lot had also been burglarized. An investigation is ongoing.
Friday, June 19
Police responded to a midday call about a man searching through a dumpster at Chevron/McDonald’s, 860 S. Indian Hill Blvd. The suspect provided a name to arriving officers, and a records check returned a misdemeanor San Bernardino County warrant while a search allegedly yielded a narcotics pipe. He was arrested for the warrant and misdemeanor possession of unlawful paraphernalia. While en route to CPD, the man revealed his actual identity as a 50-year-old Claremont resident. A records check of his true name showed five misdemeanor San Bernardino County warrants. He was then re-arrested for the five warrants, possession of unlawful paraphernalia, and charged with giving false ID to police, a misdemeanor. He was booked at the CPD jail and released with a citation.
Police responded to calls about suspicious persons in the 600 block of W. Bonita Avenue at 2:15 p.m. and questioned two Pomona residents, a 40-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman. A records check of the woman showed a misdemeanor warrant from LA County and that she had an active protective order against the man. She was arrested for the warrant and the man was arrested for misdemeanor violation of a court order. Both were transported to CPD and booked. The woman was released with a citation. The man was held for court.
Police responded to Norms, 807 S. Indian Hill Blvd., at 9 p.m. on a call about suspicious people in the parking lot. Officers questioned two Pomona residents, a 27-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man. The woman was arrested for misdemeanor trespassing. The man provided police with a false ID, a records check returned a misdemeanor warrant from LA County, and a search allegedly yielded a narcotics pipe. Police arrested him for felony ID theft, misdemeanor possession of unlawful paraphernalia, and the warrant. Both were transported to CPD, booked, and released with citations.
