Claremont Little League All-Stars hit postseason

Claremont Little League’s seven All-Star teams recently began their postseason tournaments, each team vying for a District 20 title and hoping for more.
8-year-olds (2-2)
The youngest Claremont Little League All-Stars were eliminated from District 20 postseason play June 17 with an 11-2 loss to Glendora American, 11-2, The team opened its postseason with an 8-5 win over Glendora American on June 13 then lost to La Verne, 16-8, on June 15, sending them to the double elimination bracket. There they beat San Dimas, 17-7, on June 16 before losing to Glendora American the following day, sending them home for the season.

9-year-olds (1-2)
The 9-year-olds’ postseason ended June 17 after a wild loss to Glendora National, 13-10. The team began the tournament with a 9-3 loss to La Verne on June 13 sending them into to the double elimination bracket, where they easily handled Pomona’s Ted Greene, 13-2, on June 16. Glendora National ended their season the following day.
10-year-olds (0-0)
The 10s play Glendora American at 5 p.m. Friday at Marchant Park, 425 Juanita Ave., San Dimas. If they win they play Glendora National at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 30. A loss would mean they play a TBD opponent at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27 in the double elimination bracket.
11-year-olds (0-0)
The 11s faced Glendora American after press time Thursday at College Park, 100 S. College Ave., Claremont. A win would mean their next game is at 6:45 p.m. Monday, June 29. Should they lose, Glendora National will be their opponent in the double elimination game at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 27.

12-year-olds (1-0)
The 12s, competing for a chance to play in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, began their postseason Wednesday with a huge 17-7 win against Pomona American at George Manooshian Park, 859 Sierra Madre Ave., Glendora. Next up is La Verne at 5 p.m. Friday, June 26.
13-year-olds (2-0)
The 13-year-olds secured the District 20 title with a 14-0 blowout of San Dimas on June 15 and another easy win, 17-2, June 17 against Pomona’s Ted Greene, both at Griffith Park in Claremont. The District 20 champs move on to the Section 3 tournament versus D18 champs South Pasadena at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 27 at Hawkins Field, 701 E. Eighth St., Upland.
14-year-olds (0-2)
Claremont’s 14-year-old All Stars lost twice to La Verne, 4-2 on June 19 and 13-1 on June 20, sending them home for the summer.
