The inaugural Claremont Pride Festival runs from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at Memorial Park, 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd.
The free event, hosted by nonprofit The Endless Foundation, will include opening remarks from U.S. Congresswoman Judy Chu and Claremont Mayor Jennifer Stark followed by a panel discussion, “Bringing Generations Together: Then and Now,” featuring Bill Johnson — who in 1972 became the first openly gay minister ordained in a historic Protestant denomination — and Cal State Stanislaus interim President Sue Borrego.
The festival will also include live music from The Fine Print and Jordan Sunshine, arts and crafts, food, drink, and small business booths.
