The Route 66 Main Street of America centennial caravan made its way through Claremont Sunday, visiting the Old School House at Indian Hill and Foothill boulevards in celebration of its 100th anniversary.
Claremont resident Brian James joined the caravan in his 1965 Mustang convertible.
“It’s been down Route 66 many times,” James said, adding the vintage car originally belonged to his father, Jerry James. “We’re going to go on as long as we feel like it.”
The caravan is due to reach Route 66’s terminus in Chicago, Illinois on June 25. Visit route66caravan.com to follow its progress.
