Stater Bros. Charities recently donated $766,469 to Shoes That Fit, the largest donation the Claremont nonprofit has ever received.
The donation followed a 12-day fundraising campaign at Southern California Stater Bros. markets. The check was presented June 4 at the Stater Bros. location at 1775 E. Lugonia Ave., Redlands, the top fundraising store, pictured here. Shoes That Fit and Stater Bros. have partnered since 2019.
“Shoes aren’t just a fashion statement for children. Comfortable, good-looking shoes are an important contributor to their self-worth, confidence and school performance,” wrote Stater Bros. Charities Chairman and President Nancy Negrette in a statement. “When our stores and customers heard about the mission of Shoes That Fit and the impact they are making for kids, they instantly got behind the campaign and exceeded everyone’s fundraising expectations.
